Story

Mara Andrews didn’t expect to find anything in the University Archive. She was just doing her job. What she found was a manuscript that shouldn’t exist, written in a language that looked exactly like source code. What followed pulled her into a centuries-old secret, and a question she can’t unfind:

"What if reality is a system? And what if you’re the variable it was never designed to handle?"

Meet The Creator

J. Lulu is a visual artist with over two decades in entertainment production, including work on Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith at Lucasfilm and Live Free or Die Hard at The Orphanage. Her short film Transcendence won Best Animation at the Monza Film Festival 2023.

She is now building The Rollback Protocol alone, from a remote island in the Norwegian Arctic. Every page, every frame, even the soundtrack for the book and eventual animated film.
